The Vision for Jubilee was born out of the recent Recession. Even before the recession, many people within our town and surrounding area were suffering debt created poverty, with many not knowing how to break free from their money difficulties.

In 2009 a group of concerned Christians from Churches within Oswestry and District began to meet to explore the situation, from which came a sense of calling from God to develop a local, specific, free to use and Christian-based Debt Advice Service, which would complement other local agencies, while providing something new, an important aspect of which would be to encourage and equip Churches to work together to help our communities

This led to a recommendation being made to Churches Together in Oswestry and District [CTOD] in November 2009, and it was agreed we would follow the  'Community Money Advice' model and set up the Jubilee Money Advice Service for Oswestry and District.
